March 16th, 2008 by admin

Are you looking for some adventure to add to your next Maui vacation? I know most people who travel to Maui just want to chill out or hang out at the beach, but I’m sure there some adrenaline junkies that want to cycle down a volcano or zip high over a forest hanging from a wire. Sound exciting? Well you can make your zipline dreams come true at the Ka’anapali resort on Maui. Book online for a $15.00 discount off the regular price of $149.95.

There is another zipline course on Haleakala. It’s a little cheaper at $89.00 and you can get a discount at the website for this course also. Skyline Eco Adventures will point out some of the natural features and clue you in about the ecology of Maui. Check out zipline.com or call them at 808-878-8400 for reservations.

The Valley Isle has plenty of reporting outlets! There are dailies and weekly newspaper all over Maui. The Maui Weekly has a great website for Maui news from Kihei. The Maui News scoops up the news from Wailuku. The Lahaina News updates weekly from the lovely town of Lahaina. Haleakala Times bills itself as Maui’s Free Press and focuses on environmental and cultural awareness in Maui County.

Some facts about Maui

February 26th, 2007 by Keoni

Maui is the 2nd largest island in the Hawaiian chain. Maui county consists of 4 islands, Maui, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, and Molokaʻi. There’s also the little crescent shaped Molokini. The color for Maui is Akala (pink). Maui is also known as the Valley Isle and a lot of the sand on Waikiki is really shipped over from Maui, threatening the sand dunes in the valley. Maui shares its name with the demi-god Maui who raised the islands from the sea in Hawaiian legend.

Why would you want to go to Maui? Why wouldn’t you? You can surf, check out whales or just enjoy the amazing scenery. The old whaling port of Lahaina is a big tourist destination. You can drive the Road to Hana. You can watch the sunrise at Haleakala and zoom down the hill on a bicycle.
